Lowe’s Says Mylow Users Convert at Three Times the Rate of Everyone Else

Lowe’s is putting numbers behind its AI assistant. On the company’s August 19, 2026 second-quarter earnings call, CEO Marvin Ellison said online shoppers who engage with Mylow, the retailer’s AI agent, convert at three times the rate of those who do not. Mylow and its associate-facing counterpart have fielded more than 25 million questions since launch.

Online sales rose 15.7% in the quarter, total sales 8.3% to roughly $26 billion, and comparable sales 0.2%. Lowe’s does not credit the online gain to AI alone: Ellison also pointed to a reworked digital experience, expanded visualization tools, free and same-day delivery, and a growing online marketplace. Online growth has topped 15% for two consecutive quarters, Ellison said.

The assistant is no longer only a storefront feature. In May 2026 Lowe’s introduced Material Lists, which turns handwritten notes, photographs, spreadsheets and other project files into product lists a contractor can quote from, aimed at small and midsize contractors who handle their own estimating, purchasing and paperwork. Inside stores, Mylow Companion gives associates the same question-answering layer; executive vice president of stores Joseph McFarland said more associates engage with the tool every day and that it lets them answer questions more quickly.
