Meet Nick Jolly: R&R’s AI Santa Can Bench More Than You

R&R Partners just unwrapped “Nick Jolly,” a tattooed, motorcycle-riding AI Santa who’s less about ho-ho-ho and more about flexing his algorithmic muscles. Designed as both a holiday stunt and a preview of the agency’s proprietary AI ambitions, Jolly lives on a microsite where curious visitors can shoot him a message and watch him respond in real time—thanks to a tech stack combining generative AI, snappy text-to-speech, and some seamless motion design. The team didn’t stop at making him talk—they gave Nick a beefy personality profile complete with specific quirks like bench-press stats (450 lbs, or 525 if he’s just had ham) and an affinity for motorcycles.

What sets this project apart isn’t just the novelty—it’s how much character lives under the hood. R&R built a custom prompt system and embedded behavioral rules that let Nick deliver responses with both speed and charm. And while the engine is heavy-duty tech, the output feels surprisingly human (and jacked). The visual interface makes Nick feel more like a live performance than a chatbot demo, and R&R says that’s the point. He’s proof-of-concept for how AI can embody brand personality without feeling sterile or pre-programmed.

Call it a festive flex, but the agency says it’s laying groundwork for what’s coming in 2026—a full suite of AI tools that let brands build characters as rich as their own histories. We made a Santa, but not just any Santa, said R&R’s director of AI & automation, Garrett Griffith. “Every detail was intentional. This is about making AI feel authentic, not artificial.” So if your brand’s personality is more Harley than Hallmark, you might want to take a page from Nick Jolly’s playbook.
