Nyx Goes Full High School in Roblox

Nyx Professional Makeup is crashing the virtual cafeteria with a full-campus takeover of Roblox’s Bayside High. It’s the first beauty brand to fully embed itself in one of the platform’s most trafficked experiences, complete with lipstick-themed racing challenges and dessert-matching mini-games. Players can attend avatar makeup classes and leave with digital swag like a Mochi Shoulder Pet or Glitter Glue Backpack—all inspired by the brand’s real-world product drops like the Smushy Matte Lip Balm.

This isn’t Nyx’s first class in the metaverse. Since 2023, it’s dipped into several Roblox activations—from iHeartLand brand houses to Halloween collabs—but this latest “semester” is its boldest attempt yet to meet Gen Z in their digital playground. With over 85 million daily users and a fast-growing 17–24 demo, Roblox offers more than just playtime; it’s an identity lab where teen users form early brand connections. Nyx isn’t selling makeup inside Roblox yet—the play is all about awareness, not transactions.

The strategy aligns with how beauty discovery is evolving—less scrolling, more experiencing. As AI tools reshape search behaviors and recommend products more conversationally, brand awareness and discovery channels beyond search become more important. Nyx backs this with a full-funnel push across TikTok, Meta, CRM, and an NYC pop-up.
