Deel’s latest 30-second spot, “Dreaming of Deeling,” leans into a literal dream sequence to sell a very un-dreamy topic: payroll. The ad follows a woman floating through clouds, pausing in front of a cityscape, then flying again as clouds morph into currency symbols—eventually joined by coworkers cruising along on their own personal cloud commutes.
What stands out isn’t the sky spectacle (which reads as AI-generated), but the people. The main character stays visually consistent scene to scene, and the supporting characters avoid the usual tells that make AI faces feel off—especially notable given their quick screen time. In other words: the spot is making a case that AI can now handle “human” without the uncanny side-eye.
The ad was developed by SuperBloom House with AI creator Si Parmeggiani leading art direction and design. Production relied mainly on Runway, Pika, and Luma, pulled together through Krea AI (a hub for multiple image/video tools). It also marks a step beyond Deel’s earlier hybrid approach last year, which used AI backgrounds with real actors—this time, it’s fully AI-generated, humans included.
