Driving School, But Make It Fortnite

The General is steering into the world of Fortnite with “Road Test Royale,” a custom gameplay map designed to teach Gen Z players about safe driving—without putting them to sleep. Built with Energy BBDO, Look North World, and Twitch, the map takes players through obstacle-filled versions of Miami, NYC, and San Francisco, where safe driving techniques earn in-game rewards.

The experience lives inside Fortnite’s “The Glitch” hub and was created with input from the National Driving Training organization to ensure the lessons go beyond cosmetics. Instead of rewarding reckless speed, the game encourages players to stay in control and follow safe driving principles to unlock new paths and extras. To spread the word, The General is tapping the Twitch livestream crowd with a 16-player tournament in August, led by streamer and Grammy-winner T-Pain.

What makes this click? The General isn’t just putting out another branded decal in a digital world—it’s embedding its message into the mechanics of play. With road anxiety increasing among Gen Z, creating an engaging space for driving confidence is smart marketing in disguise. Plus, with giveaways like a 2025 Honda Civic, Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarers and a PS5, they’re sweetening the pot to keep attention high.
